South Pacific Chief Nursing and Midwifery Officers Alliance (SPCNMOA)

The SPCNMOA is an alliance that is engaged in various ongoing activities that strengthen nursing and midwifery provision as well as partnerships throughout the South Pacific region.

Effective partnerships and coordinated approaches for strengthening nursing and midwifery to improve Pacific health in an equitable and sustainable manner.

Strengthening nursing and midwifery capacity as a key priority for Pacific health systems development, through country ownership and leadership.

Who we Are

Through the partnership between the World Health Organization Western Pacific Regional Office, SPCNMOA and the WHO Collaborating Centre UTS,  the Alliance aims to enhance nursing and midwifery effectiveness through promoting and improving population health in the region.

Distinguished Lecture Series #7

  • June 14th, 2013 - 1:30pm Geneva time

As the seventh lecture of the DLS, Dr. Gilles Dussault, PhD, is Invited Cathedratic Professor at the International Health and Biostatistics Unit of the Institute of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (IHMT), Lisbon, Portugal. He is the Director of the WHO Collaborating Centre for Health Workforce Policy and Planning and will present the lecture entitled "Nursing in the  European Union in times of economic crisis".

It will be held on June 14th, 2013 through the use of the Elluminate platform at 1:30pm Geneva time.
